There are clearly some oddities and challenges including the geography. Hopefully, the alliance has the power to undermine, obviate, and copulate the NCAA. The alliance is enough schools that, if they act in concert, can swing votes and through those votes regulations. Today the SEC is obviously the tail that wags the dog. The PAC12 has little to no influence today, so this has upside. I would prefer a carefully chosen conference taking the cream of a conference or two. Playoff-like structures trashing the SEC dominated NCAA system that exists now could be very good.
How is that gong to work? Those three conferences stretch to every corner of the country. That said, I back this alignment. It essentially gets rid of the NCAA and can compete with the SEC. I do wonder if Clemson and FSU will go with the new alignment or join the SEC.
