No one I can remember at USC is a better dual threat than Caleb. The David Copperfield move on the RPO play , where he hides the ball from the defender and takes off is voodoo worthy. You see tacklers bouncing off him ? Thick legs and upper body require you wrap him up or he gone.
I can’t recall a better duel threat QB to ever play for SC. Some maybe with a better arm like Beathard,Sogge and Palmer but those guys couldn’t really hurt you with their feet.
Has SC ever even had a true two way QB? Jimmy Jones was pretty good at both not great, Rodney Peete wasn’t too bad but he’s no Williams. Who have I forgotten?
Thanks for pointing that out to our friend Pasadena. 824 yds rushing is exactly what I meant by duel threat.
I think Caleb is the kind of player that would stay for his senior year. Like Leinart.
Caleb’s performance in the Cotton Bowl was one of the best quarterback performances I’ve ever witnessed.
But yes, an incredible overall season as well
Singlehandedly added 5 or 6 wins to last year. This was a 4 or 5 win team with 208 and without CW. Pathetic in almost every other phase of the game.
