Are now a detriment to teams getting into the playoffs and seeding?
Think of this. You could have two really good teams playing each other for conference championship. One of them is may be ranked number four on the other one is ranked number eight.
The fourth rank team wins and doesn’t gain a whole lot they might go to number three or four, but they’re still in the playoff and they’re still hosting a game. But the number 18, who might’ve been in the playoffs had not been a conference championship game might’ve just gotten knocked out of the playoffs by a un game losing to terrific team and dropping from 8 to 13 or 14
Orrrrrr you have the opposite. Maybe. 4 loses to 8. They both end up ranked about 6. No one gets a bye or home game and screws them both out of a clear path.
I don’t think the gain is worth the pain. To a conference or the teams involved.
What’s the point?
Pointess with a 12 team playoff
It’s better to not play in the CCG, then play and lose.
