I had 8 wins. I assumed losses to Utah, UCLA or ND but hoped not both.
Didn't like the Oregon State Road game, Didn't like the UA road game.
For some reason wasn't worried about Stanford. I always think they suck and they always surprise me lol
I just figured USC would face 3 good teams on the schedule and lose. And find some way to foul up another. Oh yeah, Fresno State worried me. More than Cal or Stanford.
I thought ASU would be easier than they were.
SO I guessed 8 but when I started looking it over I was like well, you only came up with 3 losses and only two of them specific. I just know what teams tend to lay an egg a time or two a year. Oregon twice, UCLA against Arizone. Happens.
This team more than any other I have ever seen has brought "just enough" every single week. And has done a remarkable job not overlooking anyone and just grinding and doing their job. For such an LA team, for so many stars they are pretty blue collar. Think that starts with Travis Dye and also that a lot of these kids come from hard working middle class midwest programs. South programs. They didn't arrive in LA as 18 year olds being told their S doesn't stink and spend 3-4 years believing it, and even 2 years believing it as they redshirt and eventually play. Gentry? Dye? Height? Lee? Mc Cutchean? Addison? These are all pretty blue collar guys.
It's a really likeable team. Hard to really embrace it since we just got to know them this year and they're a bunch of mercenaries. I want to liken it to 2002 but in many ways the teams are very very different. Even if the seasons have followed similar paths and may end the same.
Army group A had only eight armored Panzer divisions and one motorized division to support 36 that weren't armored or mechanized while 'dashing through the Ardennes and Somme'
I like your version better
'Independent units out of contact with HQ-OKW'
is the foundation of Blitzkrieg
self sustaining combat units, originally divisions
have now evolved into Combat Brigades under US doctrine
more mobile, more independent, faster to act or respond
more Blitzkrieg
overwhelming force applied to a narrow front is only part of the Blittzkrieg philosophy or esthetic, but that is where the 'Blitz' nomenclature or branding makes the most sense
lighting doesn't apply its force across a broad front, like say, water
FYI, the real reason for the stalemate in the Eastern Front was that the Red Army
fielded their version of a self-sustaining combined arms element en masse which successfully matched or blunted all the advantages first displayed by Panzer Divisions early in the war against central army doctrine
ironic, considering what most would consider Russian/Soviet doctrine today
the brutal winters and lack of supply chain, just made everything worse
(no longer self-sustaining)
then came the rains, which made maneuver an impossible dream
Not me. I was hoping for 8-4.

Could you explain zone blitz again?
especially the part where it involves only rushing 3 down linemen.
but the best part is when you explained it requires the linebackers to not move forward .
I had no idea the Germans actually backed into France . sc
I had the over/under as 9 And I went with the over
