I bought their preseason mags every year in the 90’s and early 2000’s. They were always wrong in their predictions. I expect nothing has changed. They also have Nebraska being upset by you know who.
Not sure why they always schedule Stanford as game #2. Our run defense better improve over what happened with Rice runningbacks gashing us for big gains. Where is the middle linebacker? We should go back to a 4-3 defense as you need big boddies to contend with big olines.
I have always thought Shaw was a good coached mostly based on how his team never plays sloppy, exploits what is working until the defense changes, which SC rarely did. Always a little short on the skill guys. Guy always seemed like he had his act together.
Stanford will always bee good up front. The smartest players on just about every football team are the offensive lineman. And the Smartest offensive lineman always seem to wind of at stanford.
USC is a couple years behind in D line size and depth. Just not a good matchup.
I expect a lot of long slow Stanford drives.
When I chose guessed 8 and 4, this is one of the I was concerned about.
Never have or will predict an SC loss, but those that think SC is going to just going to run up the score, well, I just don't understand their reasoning. sc
That's such a strange post. He shows up to chop down the tree but then disappears leaving the tree unscathed? Better hope that is not a harbinger of things to come.
Wow. Fred Crutcher. 3 yards and a cloud of dust. memories. wonder how he would have done if he hadn’t torn those ligaments his sophomore season. Out of Pasadena.
PS is anybody beating Nebraska these days REALLY an upset.

It’s Athlon. Nothing to worry about. Just slap Shaw upside the head for me after they lose. Thanks…
double digit win
John Robinson on the smart Stanford football players, “ yeah, those geniuses couldn’t figure out we were running the same play over and over” .
An oldie but goodie.John McKay.
chop down that tree!
#12, what a player.
