Athlon sports saying Miller Moss to transfer

Moss didn’t make enough of the big plays. Too many misses on the deep routes. I watched a lot of UNLV last year, and it should be noted Maiava might’ve been even worse on the deep routes. But Maiava brings in the option to run when the pocket breaks down. He can and will run. He also doesn’t have as many balls knocked down at the LOS. That’s hurt Moss the entire season.

We’ll have to take the bad and the good with Maiava. He’s a playmaker and can do some things on the run (rolling out). Having said that, be ready for some errant throws and a few picks.

This will all be on CLR. He’s the qb genius. If he can limit Maiava making bad decisions, specifically INTs, I think we could end this very disappointing season on a somewhat positive note.

Very good info and points Brad. I have not seen Maiava play yet (HL tape or in live games). Dam makes me leery about his arm talent according to your scouting report. Average accuracy and weak long throws, not good. Hopefully, C. LR has improved his QB skills since he's been at USC (less than a year). Good thing, he's athletic and can run. Crossing my fingers.

Agree, it’s a no win for CLR. However, if Maiava lights in up next Saturday (not counting on it), it will provide a much needed spark for the team. If the team can somehow win the last 3 games, there might even be hope for recruiting. Nothing too significant imo as I believe a significant amount of damage has been done. Coach really f’d it up.

Just our luck at UCLA, Maiava will be up to speed by the time USC plays the Bruins, whereas with Moss we might have stood a chance.

Lewis is touted for his quick release and field vision. He's going to need every bit of that and more if he does come to SC and if the O line is the same ol same ol.

Huh, even with Moss awesome bowl game performance, C. LR shopped the TP very hard. He ended up with a plan B QB in Maiava, right before the store was about to close. Every plan A QB targets turned him down (no way Jose). C. LR found it very difficult shopping the TP, not just QB's. Why? Weak NIL or maybe they saw a bad OL unit, or the 5 losses, or how crappy he coached the last 2 USC teams?

Even if Ju Ju Lewis fulfills his commitment, the QB room is still not up to par with only Maiava and Lewis. Hell, C. LR will shop for the best QB in the next TP once again, but I believe he will again have a hard time. Kids can see how he has struggled 2 season in row and the talent level (roster) is just not there, a lot of holes and little depth.

I do not care he produced 3 Heisman winners, that's all history. Kids will judge him on his recent USC HC performance which has been lousy. Most of us Trojan fans do not like his management style as a HC and game day play calling duties. Hell, he is a very expensive Helton 2. Hard to dump him due his big buy out & remaining contract. 2ndly, this HC is one of the worst recuriters ever at USC. The weak roster falls on him, period. I wish he would quit and go to another team or the NFL.

These long term, guaranty contracts sucks and have hurt many college programs... Cheers.
