Do not hire anyone from the Big Ten to be your DC. At all.

Do not hire someone who was DC for a D head coach.

Do not hire anyone who has been a DC in only one place. Especially if it fits with the two above

Do not hire anyone whose main claim to excellence is sustaining greatness already at their school.

I'd hire that UCLA Lynn guy. Go after the Texas pollock dude. Still like the James Madison one.

Here's what I don't get: Excluding the soon-to-be former p12 teams going into the B1G next year, only 3 B1G teams ranked in the Top 50 of scoring offenses for 2023.

Is that because the offenses in the B1G are generally so poor, or because the defenses are so good? I don't think it's a snow/cold situation either, although that might have a small effect on offenses.

Assuming 3 excellent QBs (C Williams, M Penix, B Nix) can be at least somewhat replaced for 2024, seems like the offenses of most of the new B1G teams could likely feast next season with 3 in the Top 11 of scoring offenses this season in the p12..

Unless it's also true that the defenses in the p12 are really poor....? (Six p12 teams in the Top 50 Scoring Defenses in 2023.)

Will be interesting to have this proven one way or the other after the next few seasons in the B1G!

No way...Grinch's D would have been pushed around and it would have been ugly. Without CW and another rebuilding job in the OL that couldn't generate a running game if it wanted to..... I think your take is completely wrong. Better hope CLR can hit the Portal hard again and this time bring in some difference makers and thst he overhauls his staff or next year will be ugly....he might want to also think about making his practices a little more physical and spend more time on fundamentals ...he will need to raise his gme to survive in the Big...IMHO

well, no arguing with the fact I have been wrong a lot. At least that's what my wife tells me. By the way, the other day we were working on making an amendment to our living trust and I start giving her instructions on what to do when I'm gone and she stops me and says, " oh no we are going together, at the same time."
