Caleb Williams NFL bust.

Calling it now.

The perfect college quarterback should stay in college as long as possible and milk it financially for all it's worth. And it coukd be worth 8 figures.

Great athletes have all tried and failed at qb in the nfl. They all get injured. Every single one of them.

So he's trying this stay in the pocket thing this season . They all do at some point. But it's just not who he is.

The NFL is all about quick decisions, getting rid of the ball fast, and tight windows. nothing Caleb does well. Caleb is a 5 star version of Johnny Football. So fun to watch . And yes this is a tv show. Caching!

I don't think I have ever seen any quarterback hold onto the ball longer, at any level. He does because he can. Best college QB I have ever seen. Won't work in the pros.

That skinny kid at utla is made for the nfl, if he learns how to avoid the rush instead of not just standing there like an idiot , but actually stepping into the hit. Lightning fast reads and release. Doesn't get rattled like Caleb. Super accurate and can effortlessly makes all the throws. Needs to take a dance class or 2 . The opposite of williams.

I only care about college.

Predictions are fun. I have been better at calling busts vs stars. But isn't everyone? sc

I can see that. I can also see his strengths and there are alot of them.

Im 50-50 on his NFL right now. I know I get it, what a hedge.

He does hold onto ball a long time. Mahomesque and the right guy & skill set can clearly make that work.

I actually think CW is kind of a pussy. The nails and his facial contortions is all I have so I admit not much.

And not sure he can take a big hit. His FB personality seems more Kyler Murray then Brett Favre. I can see him losing a locker room actually. He will have some dark days as a franchise savior. Can he withstand the setbacks??? Just not sure.

All stuff I said last year at the beginning. Wasn't taking off. Held onto ball. And at the time he'd run out of bounds for an 8 yard loss. Amazing someone who was a sophomore starter at two different division one universities would not throw the ball out of bounds and run for an eight yard loss instead.

I have also expressed his softness and immaturity. Really showed in the oregon state game last year. My what what pass can do to change a season. Only tight throw I can rmember him making.

So yep. Soft. Immature. Hates contact. Doesn't throw into tight windows. And yet somehow he threw for a million yards. Tend to think Riley could make a cripple look decent back there

The NFL is always evolving. But physics never changes. Bigger faster guys on defense every year. Just as quick and athletic as Caleb. Just takes one hit.

Mahomes seems more "cerebral". Less emotionally labile.

He sure is fun to watch. been wrong before. sc

The projected contract for the No 1 pick is around $42 million , with a signing bonus of $27 million . That's a lot of money to turn down. Also the sooner the clock starts ticking on the second contract the sooner the Mahomes money comes in . $450 million. Less than half of nfl players sign a second contract with the team that drafted them, and Mahomes money is unique. That said, ego, advisers, agents , dad, back to back Heismans all contribute to making a guy like Caleb think it's possible.

And then there is the accomplishment of the NFL dream and playing at the highest level. He gone.

Will he be a bust or Frank Tarkenton? Depends on the definition of the word. I think he will be very good.

Jets are pretty credible these days. They basically built a decent team with no QB and have an old man handling duties for a year if he survives

Disagree. The jets every so often try to mask their incompetence by signing a high profile qb at the end of his career - Favre and now Rodgers leap to mind - but they consistently fail when they have to develop qb draft picks and lesser talented qbs. The last qb the jets actually developed was Richard Todd and before that Namath. Maybe they should just draft qbs from Alabama. That's the only time they have any success...

That's true. I am just saying that the Jets other than QB have a legit team other than at QB. So if you are a young guy coming in seeing who you'd be surrounded by? Lot worse out there than NY at this point.

Apparently the worst teams in the league are presently Houston, not a huge surprise as they've never been good. And Arizona. Also always been bad but surprising as they ahve a very expensive QB who is a Riley disciple and was coached by Kingsbury.

I am guessing all this noise coming from the CW camp is directed at Arizona because Kingsbury is in CW's ear and Riley is loyal to Murray. So between the two, CW sees Kyler as not being the problem and Arizona having ruined a Heisman trophy winner and product of Riley's system. So I am thinking CW is like "hey, I am the same guy, sme thing, same type of QB, what do you expect any different of me?" and assumes Arizona is the problem, not the player. If I were him I might feel the same.
