school. I keep hearing that Riley and Harbaugh suck at recruiting because of NIL budget limitations. Can someone quantify that? Anyone? A rahrah, perhaps?

Ummm....my fellow college football fans allow me to spell it out slowly for everyone: My earlier post was a joke. A joke based on almost everyone on here thinking that Phil Knight simply writes a check from his $40B bank account to a recruit or a current player, and it's done. It doesn't work like that, although it would be nice if it did....lol
Yes, there are advantages to being so closely tied to Nike for Oregon and the marketing opportunities for players other programs might not have access to. But it's not like Phil is personally actively writing checks and mailing them out to recruits willy nilly. 🤣. There still has to be some actual quid pro quo between a third party, the player's likeness and his receipt of funds.
Not sure if the link below is accurate or not (couldn't find the corresponding On3 article that this post was based off of).
I do find it rather amusing that according to that info, USC is pegged at 4th at $13.5M while Oregon comes in at 8th at $11.6M. Shoots down a lot of unproven suppositions about Oregon's NIL far outdistancing USC's....but, again, who knows how accurate this is, although it was certainly based off of player NIL reporting. Does it include the whole picture, though? Probably not.
So we don't really know what is accurate or what isn't at this point. But I do get how it's more fun to simply state Oregon is out-spending everyone, and using that as the sole reason for my quacks landing top recruits.
NIL On!
Do the research, let us know all schools budgets for something that a school has no control over.
Fuck You, Fraud.
this is not public information rice for brains. sc
Also an easy one from my side: Oregon's NIL budget give or take a few billion.
This one is easy from my side. A big fat F'ing 0.
