And how do you know Sam wants/thinks San Fran (Shanahan & org) + being on west coast is NOT a better situation than being a placeholder for a team drafting #1 who just gave up their best offensive weapon and another 1st and 2nd round draft pick?

Notice Sam signed before Dalton. And btw Dalton has had a very nice NFL career. This aint Jameis Winston here.

What puzzles me a little is this. carolina cuts baker to give Sam the starting job. Granted th e season was trashed by then but still.

Sam is better than Baker.

Baker is a much better talker than Darnold. sometimes thats all that it takes.

Lastly, assuming he is 3rd string is dumb. san Fran will put the guy they think they can win with. The other two guys are injured right now. With these low cost contracts the job is OPEN. IMO
