I definitely think it would be a good hire, but not sure he would leave the NFL to come to SC, and I don't see it as a home run hire imho. Maybe 5-6 years ago. Who knows, with Big Ben about done and nobody in the wings, maybe he would leave.
I will say one thing - it would be a big hire.
VERY high actually. On paper. Would have to interview him and see how/if he can relate to kids & moms. As Coach O says you recruit Momma. I don’t know if he can. I think he can but that would be the issue and does he want to recruit. IDK that.
But on paper he’s close to a homerun hire. Media would love it. Much more buzz than Peterson For instance. And it’s Not like USC could use some good PR.
After losing Belloti, Riley before Carroll and seeing what JRII, Hackett and Hugs did he seems like an upgrade.
I'm a huge Palmer fan, but the alum and the players do not have a good track record of helping to pick head coaches.
