Who is the best quarterback you have seen at USC ?
Will always be a Rodney Peete and TODD E M huge fan. Love Sam Darnold.
But Caleb vs Carson? Both have heismans, and yes iq66, next sunday is ONLY a formality.
And please don't bring up Leinart who Augie posted was the greatest college quarterback of all time. No wonder I didn't think I should go with his obsession with Oklahoma's offense. Leinart was surrounded by superstars. He wasn't even voted MVP on his own side of the ball by his own teammates. Leinart's defense was riddled with NFL superstars. Carson's defenses were at least, meh. Don't seen any of Caleb's teammates on defense playing in any pro bowls.
I posted that GOD created the perfect quarterback in Carson Palmer. Huge, Golden arm, 4.6 forty, elusive for his size, great leader, not a character flaw. What the hell else do you want? I posted on this board he would win the first USC heisman quarterback at USC while he was still in high school. Kid put the team on his back. He overcame Paul Hackett and his triangle read offense. What the hell else do you want?
Carson spend most of his college career running for his life at SC. And yes, he was hard to catch, but yes he did get caught. Carson was also saddled with Sunny Byrd . Want to see a perfect NFL throw? See Carson Palmer. You didn't need to see his passes, you could hear them. 5 * Long Beach Poly Jackrabbit quarterback Jason Thomas took one look at him the first day of summer practice at UCI and said, f this sh!t, I'm out of here.
Caleb on the other hand is almost a different species. A better species. More advanced. It's like human evolution hundreds of thousands of years from now, preview. Next I will find out he doesn't require sleep. Has no bidness getting away with what he is able to do, yet he does. Every freaking week, and doesn't break a sweat doing it. Just chews on his mouthpiece. All he asks is the defense either gets a stop a half or a turnover here and there.
Sure Caleb ( who isn't close to as big, but runs a 4.5) comes off as a spoiled brat. Sure it took him almost 10 games to agree to slide, as if he said, fine, if that will get you off my back , I will slide. "Fine I will throw it out of bounds, can I go to Tommy's now" . All with a side show bob hairdoo. NO, you are not supposed to be able to make those throws on the run. No one (still two words) has EVER done that before. NO ONE. Not in high school. Not in college. Not in the NFL. Not on the plains of Africa.
Since Lady Sanka of the fake lake (at my suggestion on trojan bulletin board) founded this board, I have posted "my kingdom for a quarterback that can move". So who moves better than Caleb? He defines Elusive. You can't teach that. You can't "work on that". Ever try to catch a piglet". Good luck with that. Remember the scene when Rocky Balboa tried to catch a chicken? Good luck with that.
Carson put the team on his back 20 years ago and won the Orange bowl. Caleb has had this team thrust his back since he walked onto University Park this year. Caleb can't even bothered with NFL throws. He's not in the NFL, and he's selling sugar drinks during timeouts.
Still think Carson is the GREATEST TROJAN OF EM ALL. But the best college quarterback I have seen at USC ?
Well, Heisman number 8. sc
Different. and you know it .
prefer nothing about my family friends, Relationships, employment, x‘s ,bidnesses, etc. be posted on line.
is that really so hard for you to grasp?
I get a laugh every time you use iq66
Now you’re taking credit for this board? Lol. No. This board was founded out of a Usenet group. Many of whom stayed with us on ww for years. Last two I remember were pthrapp of uw and John Mullins of usc.
the rest is spot on.
carson and rodney were the greatest leaders I’ve seen. Great characters. Great players. I don’t think Caleb is a leader but he’s the best athlete ever to play qb possibly in pac 12 history. Certainly usc. His arm and his legs. Unreal.
I think li n coln riley is the leader of this team. The captain. Think Caleb is a willing appendage. Who does things I’ve never seen. And I’ve seen a lot. His talent early on was obvious but he’s developed and grown. A lot. You don’t often see that happen this fast this much with skmeone already this talented. Shoot. He went from not elusive to incredibly elusive. Imagine that. All he had to do was read your posts. Maybe he will also start his own message board one day
Carson has an 80 IQ. MAX! No wonder you love him.
Carson was actually very average most of his career at SC. Yes, you can blame that on who he was surrounded by, and it has some merit. But based on performance he was not able to carry mediocre teams on his back, evidenced by having few if any game winning drives. check the record books. You might not find one game winning drive executed by Carson Palmer.
I believe Carson was 2-2 in games against ucla, 1-3 against ND. He never won a conference championship, never played in or won a Rose Bowl. I believe he only won one bowl game, the Orange Bowl, his senior year.
and even his senior year did not start off great. He was 2-2 when SC hosted
Cal At the Coli. SC was trailing by 10 when Pete Carroll threw up his hands after another poor decision and incomplete pass by Carson. Not sure what Pete Was thinking but he was not happy with the QB play. But all that changed the next series. Not sure what the down and distance was but Cal was about to sack Carson ending another possession for SC, but Carson ducked, turned and somehow missed what should have been a sure sack by the Bears. Carson stayed on his feet, rolled to his left and completed a pass for a first down. From that play on, Carson and the Trojans never looked back. SC eventually scored that series and then blew by the Bears in the second half. The rest of the season SC won big and Carson put up huge numbers to Earn himself a Heisman. bit for 4 and a half years Carso. Did not distinguish himself as the greatest QB in SC history. I’m not going to debate his arm strength and accuracy compared to others, but he is not the greatest in terms of accomplishments on the fiel. not even close actually.
you want a quarterback that can move
but then Carson will always be your man
is this a height thing?
