CLR post practice interview (today)

@San Clemente not trying go back n forth here. But yeah, Riley has never had to build a team from shit (4-8), but that’s not his fault. He came into a ready made situation at OU. Actually says something about what people think of his coaching abilities. Getting hired at a blue blood without HCing experience. Again, not his fault.

so here’s the thing. Can he do it? Maybe, maybe not, we don’t know just yet. But we both agree CLR has articulated a real plan in order to get it done. Or maybe you just said he talks like a real HC,,, don’t remember exactly what impressed you about Coach.

His plan is clear. Talent, culture and hard work. He’s done EVERYTHING his said he was going to do to get ready for season 1 (Look at the roster turnover!!). He doesn’t seem like a bullshiter to me. All I’m asking you is if you’re impressed what he’s done in 2.5 months? The talent he signed. The early verbals for 2023. Straight talk in pressers. The staff he’s assembled. The attitude of the players. Don’t ask me, just listen to what the press is saying. Definitely not the same things I read when Hugs, suck or Kiffin started here. im starting to ramble… rah

@Brad Stevens good post. If we know anything about tendencies here on the WW is that once someone makes a prediction about a coach, they dig in . wait until SC has to punt in a game for the first time. Ski on, lol.

Thats a solid post. Additionally, as to his track record he sustained performance at Oklahoma for a while adn now he has a solid start recruiting to patch holes here. So in short, you are right he is doing the right things.

@Brad Stevens Henson is a tremendous hire. And let’s not forget Bedenbaugh ranked out at the last minute. Henson, Nua and the RB coach all were pivot hires.
