Coach Lincoln Riley was not a great hire.

I posted this after careful research and thought right after 162 took the job. And I was alone. Got called all kinds of names.

That's also when I came up with the nick 162. As I posted at the time CLR had given up 162 points in the three biggest games of his head coaching career. That's just insane. And he was planning on brining his defensive coordinator with him. IKES!!!!!!

Riley is an offensive genius and quarterback guru. Yippee, but that is ALL HE IS. Sorry, but it has all been confirmed. He needs a general manager to force him to hire someone to run the other half of his team. Who is going to do that?

After today's Tulane-esque embarrassment ,barely squeaked out a victory over the much hyped and undermanned Colorado bisons, CLR explained the defense as having missed a few tackles.

"missed a few tackles". UH NO. When it comes to defense , CLR doesn't just have a mental block, he is flat out retarded. He probably has no idea why his team keeps winning and dropping in the polls.

Offense is way more important in 2023 than defense, but Defense still matters. Last season proved to any and everyone with even a casual interest in college football that The Grinch had to go. What did CLR do? He said he would do a DEEP DIVE into the defense and address the situation. What did he do? He went back to tinkering with his toy, his offense.

It's not just me. Just search engine it. The Grinch and usc's defense is the laughing stock of college football . It was after the Cotton bowl and it is today. Oregon, Washingon, The french whores, ucla, can't wait to clean their cleats with this ridiculous shit show. But oh boy USC got some more sacks today. YEA!!!!!!!!!.. Cause sacks matter. Points , not so much.

Personally I like CLR . Will always be greatfull that he put some life back into SC and made it somewhat relevant again. He just wasn't the price that was promised. Sorry. wasn't a great hire. My guess is an NFL team will give him the head coach title , let him work his magic on offense and not let him near defense or personnel decisions and he might actually win something for the first time in his life. That's a win win. sc

It's too bad Bohn is gone, I think he would push for it by end of year to fix tge D for next season.

I'm not convinced Riley would do it on his own accord if we don't make the playoffs.

I'm not there yet. Grinch is shit, plain and simple. I think he'll be fired at the end of the year. Waiting to fire him at the end of the year is another topic, but not a plus for CLR's management skills.... Bottom line is I believe CLR is a superior OC, and he will always get the players on that side of the ball. So the question is can he get someone to solve the defensive troubles next year. I personally would give him the chance.

Never feel good if my defense sucks, so I guess I'll be unhappy the rest of the season.

as I said, he's the don coryell of college football. lot of flashy passing, lot of points, doesn't understand the run game, detests defense. Never won the big game. You can't outscore everybody, esp when you really have no core principal to your offense other than to make your qb look great.
