His 40 yard dash time is listed as 4.40. Regarded as a Pro-style QB.. I agree, he does need some improvement on his foot-work. In high school, a kid this talented can just sit back and chuck the the ball from standing in the pocket. If he develops a side-step to elude the blitz up the middle, he will spell trouble for opponents. Bruin OL looks weak up the middle, any DC will see the film and send the house to upset Dante's timing.
Agree 100%, especially with your comment (later in this thread) re the AS game as a telling sign. But as far as being elusive, Garbers makes Moore look like DTR. And good luck with JMS...
Dante just needs to use his athleticism in the pocket. Have no idea who his quarterback coach is. Utah changed 3 star Slovice's career with one hit. that's all it takes. but he completed the pass too as I recall. sc
Chip needs to design some rollout packages for Moore or he's going to get killed. One of his best passes came when he was forced out of the pocket, rolled to his right and hit Sturdivant for a big gain on a perfectly thrown pass.
with the zone read era, you dont see many designed pocket rolls. Not sure why, but usc has been lacking this when they (typically) didn't have athletic qbs. Big mistake that will get your pocket passing qbs killed over time.
He's a 5 star version of 3 star kedon Slovis, but even less slippery.
I went back and looked at Dante's high school tape . Best example was army game . Where he was mvp .Dudes feet don't move at all and he steps into the hit and gets blasted .
Interesting, I assumed he had great feet. He seemed to move ok yesterday. You watched the film, I didn't. I trust you, but interested to see going forward. Maybe chippy brings it outta him.
he does have great feet, and he is athletic, he just dosn't use them to avoid the crush. He's so quick that he usually gets the ball out and on the mark. But at what price? He took 2 hits yesterday in limited play. One was a pick. One was a sack.
Carson had the same problem of taking the hit when he was in high shool. He was just so big that high school kids bounced off of him. then he got blasted at Oregon and broke his clavicle.
only weakness I saw in Moore's game yesterday was that he really takes the hit. Dude is poised, appears to see everything, gets rid of the ball quick and on target. sc
What? Did you see his first TD pass he looked pretty elusive to me. He's so good it's a joke, sees the entire field, it's too bad that idiot Kelly didn't see it sooner. Dante is now the starter.
TEE said he (Dante Moore) is the best QB in the conference, which makes the Heisman trophy winner the 3rd best QB in the Pac12 because he (TEE) said Sanders of Colorado is better than Caleb Williams. Apparently the Pac is back..... for 3 more months.
That's quite a statement by Tee. I believe Dante is going to be very good but the best in the Pac after just a couple series? Hardly.
Sanders with a unbelievable performance yesterday against a quality team on the road BTW. Better than Caleb? Hardly.
Caleb is the best QB because I've seen enough of his games to know that but he doesn't necessarily play for the best team so we'll see how that plays out.

He's going to have to learn how to move when he has to, otherwise someone's going to break him in half. And he's going to have to learn quickly.

I do like him though. He's smooth. Lean. Athletic. Wknder how tall he is.
I just think he has the IT factor
