Totally fine with that approach witj our personnel on D and our offense.

We’ll get get gashed and we’ll get short fields….hopefully thats a zero sum, and the offense takes care of business the rest of the way.

i think given the state of the program that's what you do. You figure out what you do well. Rely on it and then do anything to change the status quo where you're weak.

USC will be able to out physical a few teams and probably do the same on Offense. Win those games 32-14 or 28-10 Not score as much because they'll run a lot and take the win. And for the 4-5 teams that physically match up trust that offense to open up wide, score a million and gamble on D.

I mean, if that works out you can win every game. In reality what probably happens is about half the time you look great and the gamble pays off. And you beat ASU and UCLA. But then just get embarrassed by Utah and Notre Dame and get called 162 because you give up 50 a game. and in the end end up 10-2.

The reality is I think anyone in their first year of a turnaround who can pull that off ends up with lots of praise. And I imagine they continue to try to recruit HS and transfers until they man man up up front and in back with anyone. And at that point you're playing with Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan. Good news for USC is they aren't starting over in that regard. They're fairly far down the road with existing talent and transfers. And this coach knows his stuff,

I'm not thrilled with a lot of the flags but I get them. Lot were PI. Couple were holds. I didn't see any false starts. No extra men on the field and despite thinking USC was gonna hit 0 a few times, no delay of games. Didn't see any stupid celebration penalties. No facemasks or roughing the passers. Pretty sure all I saw were holds and PI. Given the kind of game it was, that area is progress.

Did Stanford ever get called for holding? It looked like on every play, their left tackle (#75?) either had a handful of Trojan jersey or a pretty nice takedown.

And that offensive PI against Rice (? #2?) in the 4th Q near the endzone was total BS.
