SEC went out to try and destroy the Ducks for their success.
So glad NIL and portal is here. No more Alabama advantage. Notice how UA has faltered in last 3 years and Saben quit due to even playing field. He was bitching about NIL from day one. He used to deny players from transferring within the conference.
But once the changes came he had no problem grabbing other SEC players likeTooto.
Those are pretty dumb statements considering your baseline about an even playing fields false....nothing that is happening in CFB right now reflects an even playing field for every school...that take is asinine. Second the only advantage Alabama had over some other schools was a guy named Nick Saban...when other schools threw more cash at players than Alabama ( see Texas A&M)....and lastly did you think Saban would be stupid enough to not follow the rules the NCAA allowed the Portal and NIL to do and not take players that went into the Portal...considering he was a pretty smart guy no one would think he wouldn't do what every other school was doing. Boo Hoo he denied players from transferring within the conference ...I guess you forgot the PAC actually had a rule against that for awhile ...
Alabama's run is done. They don't have the money to compete. Poor state. No billionaire alumni. When cars and sacks were king, Saben ruled college football. sc
Ya we knew that...did you also know the three years was a show cause on Chip Kelly thanks to his hand written thank you letter to Lyles and $25k in cash...pretty hard evidence to refute no matter who was on the committee...Oregon gt off lightly but not Kelly...kinda like Michigan for illegal recruiting, cheating with stealing signals, filming unauthorized games and practices of opponents...got Harbuagh suspended from coaching at 3 games but he still was involved in practicies...do you get it...
Jealousy? And this was sanctions brought down by the conference, not the NCAA, while UW was carrying the Pac-10 at the time. UW admitted to 4 counts: Fruit baskets, box lunches, using the athletic department's phone to call long distance home and pocketing left over money from hosting recruits (one high profile player admitted it...netted him a little over $17). Thos heinous crimes was the loss of 30 scholarships, two year bowl ban and loss of tv revenue for one year, to be divided among the rest of the conference.
BTW, don't listen to the ducks. The Hobert thing was just loss of eligibility, not sanctions but the 'boats filled with prostitutes for the UW players'? Seriously? duck fans are so gullible. But it was just hearsay so it must be the truth. SMH at their stupidity.
Don't forget Oregon in the 2015 Championship game too.
No excuses, but a big reason Oregon's offense couldn't compete vs tOSU in the 2015 national championship game was because our WRs were so depleted. A couple were due to injury (TE Pharoah Brown, WR Devon Allen), but the main loss was our best WR Darren Carrington who sat due to testing for weed just prior to the game.
Self-inflicted, but c'mon, testing for weed on the Oregon football team is like testing for Bud Light. Who HASN'T partaken???
Good news is that as of last year the NCCA is recommending to quit testing for cannabis prior to championship events, and instead focus on PED testing.
That experience also tells me why quality DEPTH is likely among the biggest factor in determining a champion going forward in a 12-team playoff format.
