when woman were woman. and a few of them were occationally happy. sc

not that long ago I was brought in to dramatically extend the supply chain of a small but rapidly growing OC company

our four [young] woman administrative pool which usually had nothing to do

(another interesting modern phenomena)

did a lot of extra work for me over serveral weeks, at my request

so I bought all four a large mocha cappuccino from Kéan's

all of them, same size, same amount of whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, etc.

I unceremoniously set one on each of their desks

while saying; 'thank you for all the extra work you have put it, it has help me very much.

I really appreciate what you have done. Thank you.'

within the hour, HR called me in for an interview

because one girl [yes, all were under thirty, if not 25]

thought I was making a pass at her

as I told the HR director [strangely they always seem to be women]

I was treating the all admins equally for extra work they had each done for me

but I could easily and would certainly in future refrain from

buying anyone at the company, male or female, anything as a reward for a job well done

I then got up and walked out without waiting for a response

moving forward I also made sure to take the stairs if any young gal

(especially the admin in question or the young Persian HR director) was on the elevator alone

LOL

certain other young females at the company actually thought I was full time hilarious and would regularly let me hold court

or that I had a great sense of humor that they wanted to appreciate more over drinks <wink>

but those are other stories for another day

LOL

you can't even tell them 'that's a great color' anymore if they think you're suspect
