He shouldn't have even been attempting those passes over the middle on that last drive. His hand was all fucked up, he was probably concussed, and that stupid fat fuck Kelly didn't even attempt one run by Charbonnet, the best UCLA running back since Johnathan Franklin, maybe since Deshaun Foster.
Not one screen pass, not one swing pass, not one counter, not one draw. Nothing but predictable passes the USC defense had all night to recognize and know what was coming.
USC played tough, they earned the win, and Williams is the best QB in America. But USC needs to give the game ball to Chip.
I was surprised dtr handled the short and swing passes as well as he did and that ucla offense kept moving. With that hand I really didn’t think he could throw at all yet he hit a long pass down the middle. Attempted a bomb o. First play of drive. And hit Bobo for about 8-10 yards rhat Bobo took for about 30. So his ability to execute despite the hand was remarkable to me.
so maybe that why they kept doing it. That said he missed some easy passes horribly and it was obvious he couldn’t zip the ball. I wonder if that last pic was one of those. whether Some more velocity gets it through that opening. I sense hr just didn’t see foreman coming the other way. And the ball was more catchable with less velocity. I mean a DE isn’t supposed to be back there and he came from the opposite direction. Your eyes are tracking your wr and you’ve accojnt Ted for the db and Lb usually. You don’t expect a de to drop into coverage and be there. Which of course is why a team does it. You just usually don’t have one quick enough to get there and make the catch. Right place right time. Stuff happens. Good for korey foreman. Kid has taken more abuse by age 20 than anyone I can rmember except a qb.
I think that interception was a combination of a really good defensive play and a very ill-advised pass. As he often does, DTR was just trying to do too much. That is why I think Kelly shouldn't have allowed him to do that and given him some help with an NFL caliber running back and BETTER PLAYCALLING! I can think of half a dozen plays that could have gained lots of yardage and eaten up clock. But we'll never know.
Well having a defensive end in coverage coming from the opposite side as you lead your receiver left to eight isn’t exactly what you’re expecting. It was out of left field. I don’t know why usc didn’t do it sooner. Maybe they did. Post game comments said they knew the pattern and the play from ucla and had seen it on film. What I don’t know is if they’d run it before. I’d guess so.
either way maybe if he can grip the ball he fires it in there. Everything he throw post injury was a floating duck. Just nature of the injury.
and yeah I’m the heat of the moment. Clock winding down. You’re locked in. Escape rush. Lead receiver. Easy 8 yard pass get to sideline. What what the &$@? Where did that big guy come from? What was he doing there? What just happened? Crap they dropped him and I started my progressions on the other side. Shoot. I mean that’s kinda how this stuff happens. Good for foreman. He’s certainly taken a lot of crap on this board. Probably has heard plenty in person about what a bust he is at age 19.

Chip Kelly can suck my dick.
