"You guys can live however and whatever you want to do in life. It's not for me to decide," he said in the video. "But it is for me to decide what's fair and not fair for the American Longboard Assn. That being said, we're going to stick to our guns. I want to offer an equal playing field for all athletes."

Messick did not respond to a call seeking comment on Thursday.

Lived there about ten years. I have a fond memory of a skinhead beating up a father who was abusing his kid on Main Street. The nature oh HB's masses has little to do with the surf contest.

Hb is full of people who couldn’t afford to live there today if they had to move in. Either they’ve been there for 30 years or they inherited a place from their parents. Bunch of fraternity Bros, who are still trying to live that life in their 40s and 50s

Newport is full of douche bags who pull the lotus up to the valet rev it three times then get out. Toss the keys to the kid and look around to see who is watching. Don’t any woman who lives there could ever drown. Silicone and plastic float yes? Doesn’t even speak to the Russian and ukranian whores who date for funds and profit there. Cdm is tolerable but pch just clogs the whole place up between Newport and Laguna and it’s just one big traffic jam.

I lived on Trinidad Island in the harbor in HB for a while. I paid $475,000 for a house off the water and $15,000 for a boat slip. I sold the house at the last peak for 1,850,000 and the slip seperately for $60,000 in greenbacks. The house was purchased by one of those folks who couldnt really afford it, who went into foreclosure rapidly. I almost bought it through the foreclosure.

HB is very traffic laden now. Every infill lot is built, condos with density are crammed here and there, rentla housing stock off beach is crammed, and last but not least contiguos towns like Westminster, Fountain Valley, and Santa Ana jam the whol area.
