only thing better is my buddy who starts every joke with
"did you hear the one about...."
before he goes right into the joke without waiting for an answer
and if you don't laugh at the punch line, he says "get it?"

I have the habit of repeating the punch line when I'm telling a joke. Kinda the same thing. Example
" So I says to her, I says, Miss you have some really nice legs. What time do they open? Hahahahaha, what time do they open, hahahahaha "

Hey, related to your original question, the answer is yes. In fact, and this is a true story, I was at this bar in St Paul the other night and a friend of mine told the same joke twice within 2 minutes, unaware that he repeated himself. He was that drunk. I didn't have the heart to break it to him that he told the same joke twice. To his credit, he told another joke in between, so within that time span it just could have slipped his mind.
