We have fantasized and debated this for years. USC fan have often said the conference screwed them
Don't think I ever thought I would see it happen. Are you happy? Sad? What do you think caused all this? I mean USC survived Larry Scott and the new guy seems better. Why leave now? Appears USC was the one who really pushed for this.
My gosh those are some long long road trips. Especially for non revenue sports that often don't fly or fly commercial coach.
It's a deal. Oregon and Washington have already applied to join as well.
Works for me. No more bullshit 7:30 pm kickoffs. And easy to get to roadies in Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and, obviously, Minneapolis.
UCLA football probably won't improve and might get worse, overall, but at least I won't have to travel to L.A. as much to see them play. And hoops should still be fine; won't affect the Tournament all that much.
UCLA needed this move to survive, and USC benefits bigtime too. So, no more whining from you pantywaists about lack of national exposure.
I wonder if the Pac-12 comes begging by throwing more money at USC (and Ucla) to stay. I remember how USC was dominating 15 years ago and was sharing all the money equally with all conference teams. Why would the Cougars or Beavers get as much money as USC? USC deserves more that 1/12 of the Pac-12 TV deal. Maybe 1/4. And all bowl teams should keep whatever bowl money they earn (or maybe share only half).
Nice to see a big FU to the Pac-12 refs. We have been so screwed in multiple games vs Stanford and Oregon over the past 20+ years.
I imagine only FB and hoops goes. It doesn't make sense to play baseball in the winter and beach volleyball, for example, against midwest schools. I have to think the Olympic sports stay west. Non-revenue sports travel is the biggest factor against it.
USC supposedly insisted that the Big 10 take ucly too. BIG MISTAKE, ...perfect chance to bury them, returning the favor for JD BOREDOM.
Why?
