If you want to watch two pretty decent QBs and like zero pass defense on both sides, tune to the Holiday Bowl tonight at 5 pm PST - Oregon vs North Carolina.
Didn't realize the Holiday Bowl took off the past 2 years. Haven't played since the Iowa-USC game of 2019. Always remember the Holiday Bowl as being really fun, high-scoring affairs.
Really REALLY wanted UCLA to beat Miami in the re-scheduled "Hurricane Bowl" in 1998, so UCLA would go to the BCS champ game, Arizona would go to the Rose Bowl and Oregon would go to the Holiday Bowl (finally!) to play Nebraska (a big-time bowl AND opponent for us quacks back then).
Even changed my name here on the wildwest to "ucLA Duck" back then just to show support of the Bruins. Well, you all know what happened....bottom line, no one advanced to a better bowl, UCLA is still looking for a national championship berth, Arizona still looking for a first Rose Bowl bid, and Oregon shuffled off to the Aloha Bowl where we were beat in a high-scoring affair by Colorado.
Oh, plus now Nick Aliotti is still considered a bad word in Westwood due to the Hurricane Bowl. The ironic thing is had Oregon kept Nick as our DC that season leading up to playing vs tOSU in the national championship game of 2015 (he left Eugene prior to that 2014 season), Oregon likely beats the Buckeyes for our first national championship.
Just goes to show how one team's swear word is another team's potential savior.....lol
Yep, after ucly chickened out of the Holiday Bowl last year, it is a wonder that the Big 10 knuckled under to the USC demand that they take the unreliable brunes.....
Melsby’s knee was down.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
