Interesting that the writers took into account the whole season rather than just the playoff games.
Oregon beat the number 1, number 5 and number 8 teams this season. But fell flat on its face in the playoffs vs the eventual national champs.
Also interesting that Oregon was voted number 3 in the AP Top 25 Preseason....and ended up exactly there at the end.
Very disappointing to get creamed out of the gate and go nowhere in the Rose Bowl, but nice consolation prizes of a B1G Championship plus a final ranking of number 3. Nothing beats a crystal football, of course, but I'd rather go down being in the hunt for one than not.
TEE, like many of you, only get joy from a national championship, so hopefully better things lie ahead for our quacks...

Buckeyes won the Natty on a Neutral Field......not Autzen
Playing in a conference championship game is detrimental to your national championship aspirations. The best thing to happen to Ohio State was losing to Michigan. It focused them and they avoided a game of no value.
As did the frauds Notre dame.
So do all B1G member schools get a slice of that bowl/playoff coin, or did they do away with that? UCLA needs to buy new tarps, so anything helps.
I find it interesting that after all the whining and complaining about smu Boise and asu being there. And about iu and their supposed meltdown versus nd.
That when the AP had a chance to rectify it. Punish those teams and show the committee who should have been there? They still included smu asu. Boise and iu all as playoff teams
And in fact the only team they dropped. Was perennial new blue blood climpson. The only mistake the committee made was putting Clemson in and in reality they had no choice.
Ole Miss allegedly was more deserving. But at 11 not by much. And at 11 after it’s all over that’s not much of a snub that maybe they were at 13 going in. Shoot. Maybe they were 11 but couldn’t get in because of conference champion commitment slots.
so while I don’t like the format. I don’t like 12 teams. If we are going to have 12 I think the committee got it right and the AP agrees
You spent over $20 million on that roster. It was not even the same playing field. Your team contacted guys on other rosters and paid them to come. Paid them to leave their teams and come play for UO Got or bought every recruit you wanted.
Steamrolled the regular season and got punched out when the lights went on.
I’m just not sure how anything short of a NC could be considered success here for a team that did and played like that. I wanted UO to win and while I don’t care like you do. I consider the entire season horribly disappointing in that regard
