Sure, he was lights out at Boise State, but most coaches there are. Winning percentages: Koetter was .722, Hawkins .828, Petersen .885, Harsin .784.

Absolutely, he won some major bowls at BSU. But he went 2-4 in bowl games at Washington, losing 3 major bowls they were in and winning only the Heart of Dallas and Vegas bowls.

Yes, he led the Huskies to a playoff berth, but so did Mark Helfrich at Oregon (and at least Helf won his bowl...and that vs a 27-0 FSU team going back 2 seasons).

Heck, Petersen was 2-4 vs Oregon during the worst stretch in the 2000s of Oregon football.

@Java disagree on the LA thing. Just because he’s quiet and reserved doesn’t mean he can’t handle himself. He’s been a HC in D1, the ego that requires eliminates any possibility of being bullied by amateurs like Plashke, Simers and Wolf.

Thought Petersen already interviewed for the USC job a while back and it was not a fit for him (and for SC). And that was before Mario pushed him outta Montlake. 🤣

No matter, sounds like he's happy where he is and not looking to get back in the game.
