I don't buy it.....how could the only desenter be UW....I would think every program that has been a bottom feeder would object to thost two programs.. as it shoves them further in the cellar and they don't make a buck more in revenue that they couldn't get if they went in another direction with added teams from weaker programs...doesn't do anything for a west coast presence..they already have that...but a Southern and atlantic presence might be more meaningful...
I understand about the apathy surrounding Stanford/Cal but with the way the market is heading, it is all about eyeballs more than fan following, and the SF/Bay Area has a lot of eyeballs.
Just beacuse the BIG XII will spread from Arizona to W Virginia doesn't mean that is a model to follow. I just think geograhical alignment is more effective than having teams scattered all over the country.
I wonder what Stanford's angle is. Do they want in? Does the B1G want them? I think adding UW/OU from the NW and Stanford/Cal from NoCal adds some geographic feng shui to the west coast pod of the B1G. The west coast teams plays all 5 other every year, then add 3 games of the traditional MW schools. Or 4 and 4.
Sounds about right, TEE. Makes so much sense on a lot of levels for the B1G, you get two solid west coast athletic programs at a deep discount for a number of years, and voila, you are on your way to the first super conference.
And that also makes sense re Wisconsin. 0-2 vs Oregon in the Rose Bowl will do that to a football administration...
Hey, if this happens, at least we'll still get to play teams in the Big 12, TEE. Starting with this September's game vs Texas Tech. 😎

That would mean Wiscy would be forced to play UW. Is that why they are a holdout?
UW and the other UW has had a home/home scheduled TWICE in the past 20 years or so and Wiscy bailed on both.
Then we just had tOSU bail on a home/home for 2024/25....
