What did Reggie have to do with the house deal? As far as I saw, Reggie was given a POS lowrider to drive around and some diamond stud earrings. Hardly anything outside the norm at any university for a star player. I saw worse when I was at ASU during the near NC season.

I know for a Fact they did when I was an undergrad . I saw the envelopes. Didn’t think twice about it. Like Marve Goux . Who I later sat next to at the coliseum, I thought they earned and deserved it . It’s how the world worked at the time. And the ncaa wouldn’t even let them get a part time job if they wanted.

The fact is, if Reggie pays back the nickles his parents borrowed, plus a small percent for their troubles. There’s a far bigger chance, an almost guaranteed possibility that Lake/Michaels stay quiet. But when they were gipped and ripped off, you bet they wanted to tell the story when the NCAA came calling.

Without their testimonies, nothing happens. The NCAAs case is dead in the water.

Reggie keeps his Heisman.

Should Reggie have to pay his pare tab? Course not. Was it the right decision to do do? Absolutely.

It was a simple, no brainer decision….but Reggie didn’t think about the repercussions of his decision. He didn’t consider the possibilities down the road. He only considered that point in time, that moment. It was a decision based in feelings and emotions….not logic.
