A. UCLA had the best defense in the conference. I don't begrudge Lynn going across town as the Bruins lose Latu and possibly several more starters on defense. Kelly's days are numbered, Lynn is getting substantially more money and he doesn't have to move.
Getting ahead of yourself....IMHO USC has nothing coming back in the OL that will keep a QB safe at this time. They also if CW leaves have no experience at QB and neither of the two guy there have escapability or scare anyone int the running game...if Lloyd leaves no experience at runningback and unprovne backs who are still learning how to block and at WR no dependable one returning but a lot of potential.. I don't expect unless there are massive changes along with size and power for this offense to be as good as it appears you do....next...
On the defensive sde...no size a LBer and tackling suspect which doesn't bode well for Lynn's D. No corners that can cover..which looks even worse for Lynn's D and the best two hitters in the secondary..Pierce and Branch got little experience or playing time..then the ends...have yet to see anyone that can rush and still contain the edge. Most talented players barely got on the field...and lastly tackle...Bear and thats it...other than him the rest got pushed aroud and overpowered...won't work n the BIG withthose guys...Lynn had rushers at end and big guys at tackle....so unless they get some good prospects out of the Potal I see the Big pushg USC around and just eatig up the clock....
Hopefully Riley does a lot of thigs different ths time and s able to improve the talent get guys to play harder and get stronger, tackle better and open holes for some kind of running game wth better clock managment..
Lynn has hs work cut out with the talent he has going in and how screwed up those players are with what they haven't learned, haven't experienced, haven't added muscle, and lastly haven't had to compete day to day for playiing time...
Lastly...for Riley open his damn practces up and quit being so thin skinned...
I like it. Hurts a rival. Brings a young black dude in. La established already. NFL experience. And a hot name
Would be nice to have a little more experience but look at some of those great nfl coaches. Like Sean Mc whoever he is. Theyre hiring babies and doing well. So smart is smart and this guy is solid.
Went to the playoffs twice in three years and in his last season as the owner stated ....he wasn't helped and their were issues outside his control.....anyone who can leave the NFL as a HC with a winning record, two playoff appearances in three years is not a C level coach IMHO....
B for BOHNED!
Incomplete.

Solid B
B
B level hire
C+ to B- time will tell if he excels or fails. He can't be worse than Grinch
He was a B+ hire for USC....key being for USC....with their current status and it being in California....great hire
B+
A+
Lynn will prove to be the best USC coach since McKay. You read that right.
I'll add. if they don't have a good defense next year, it's 100% on the players. Lynn has proven what he can do when he has good players
B plus.
UCLA D as superb this year. Dude just needs to recruit.
