Howard did not commit to USC yet because Riley would not guarantee him the starting spot. Riley said he felt moss deserved a shot to make his case in the holiday bowl but he'd be glad to guarantee Howard a shot. And that if he played poorly then he. Howard. Could make up his own mind.
Clearly moss not only won the game. He won over fans and his teammates just love him. This is no longer a good situation for Howard and he won't be coming. Neither will cam it's all about me me me and the bag and the $ and where's my coke hookers and cash ward.
So usc now can save some $$$. Spend it on DL and OL. I believe we learned they have enough wr talent to compete. They have a qb they can ride with. Time to spend that portal $$ on positions they need help with. They could stand to go spend $75 on a kicker too.
They had a blocked punt. A tremendous punt return. And all kick offs were fair caught and started at the 25. All wins in the special teams area. The one San c bellows daily about needing a coach in
Anyway. No Howard. Now the question is who will the two guys be. Jayden de rapey? The Utah kid? Dunno. Maybe to get the fsu kid. USC needs someone as moss has two years left.
amazing what one night does. We come in thinking had has holes everywhere. Suddenly there's hope for the d. USC has a qb. And usc has a wr room that looks absolutely formidable.
Good post..... starting with Will Howard. I'd sure love to have him, but yeah, probably not getting him now. Definitely need at least 1 TP QB who knows he'll have to play at a high level in order to win the job at USC. Obviously want the best we can get. Doubt he will be a Will Howard level QB... hoping
Special teams looked good tonight, but the ST play at USC has been atrocious for two years now. Something has to change. I'm not gonna sit here and say I know exactly what changes need to be made on special team, whether it be a philosophy or a full time posituon (unit) coach. If ST is truly a group effort by the entire staff, then our coaches need to sit down and seriously discuss.
I love the idea about going out and earmarking $$$$ for linemen. Please don't forget about our LBer room. Watching them the last two years was even more painful than watching special teams. And fyi if you don't already know, we actually had a solid recruiting class of Olinemen in 2023. Those guys will be young in 24, but I'm hearing really good things. Wait and see if Monheim returns for 2024 as well.
Lol, worried about the WR position at USC? Never
