Grinch is Truly an Imbecile

3 down linemen on 1st Down. Bunched together. Every time I think idea is he's prepared for run or pass. Well Washington figured out that you can run around that mess. Cal kept doing this last week too.

Problem was Washington kept getting 8 + yards a carry with this D look when we stopped it. Some times it went 30-40 yards. We should have 4/5 DL to stop the run.

well. He's really not. He thinks and expects his guys to make decisions in real time that they make and are quizzed with in film sessions. And if everyone does. All the time. They'll have a great d. Problem is. If someone doesn't. Even a time or two. The consequences are catastrophic

I was able to listen in on both coach b and Dennis Erickson. And also chow. And it was so funny

"Guys we only have 6 plays. You think you can remember that?" Everyone nods Maybe it was 8 I don't know. Then he's like ok we will learn them all first practice. Can you handle that? Every kids is like yeah yeah. For sure.

then he says ok we run them all out of 6 formations. So can you learn 6 formations and their names and where to line up? And kids are like yeah for sure.

And finally he says ok and each of these plays there's a left option and a right one. Can you handle left and right?

Every kid is on board and confident. Was chow that simple? No. But he was a great teacher and made sure not to over complicate things.

I won't go over it here but we had "finding nemo" and "playing of is as easy as 1-2-3" and it simplified OF infield communication on flies and where you were going with the ball if it came to you. No thinking. Real simple.

So my point is that he clearly has this scheme that he expects people in real time to be able to read and react as they do in the film room and clearly it doesn't work like that
