That lifestyle IMHO reduces the hunger a DC should have and makes them lazy. Same could be said for Riley. Why work hard when you have the beach, the sunsets and your best bud not more than 5 minutes away. Both those guys could hardly wait to get home instead of sleeping in the office working overtime to build a program...
A year too late and if you think CLR is worrying about USC firing him for his approach to building a progam I beleive you would be totally mistaken. Buyouts have a lot to do with getting rid of bad coaches..Clay Helton proved that at USC.
In retrospect yes it was a year too late but at this point last year the case could have been made to retain him for one more season and get some better depth at all three levels of the defense because the 2021 defense was I believe at the time our worst in history and they actually improved in a few areas in 2022.
The buyout does make it more difficult to fire him if things really go south but at the same time this rebuild wasn't going to happen overnight. Look at the recruiting classes leading up to 2022 and there's a dearth of even decent talent on the lines. That having been said, he does need to nail the DC hire.
Paid 4.3 mill in Feb 2022, when rates were still in the 3's. It was priced for a quick sale and it sold real quick even with rates in the 7's. SoCal real estate is insane . With no signs of a reversal.

Not really impressive for 4.5M (not hating, way out of my range) but that's the going comps in PV i figure. Wonder what he paid for it.
Next stop Corvalis?
Offers little resistance to trespassers. Just like his D...
