It's been 6-7 years of incompetence. The bumpkin needed to go years ago. He should have never been hired but Benedict Haden wanted to kill the program.

Thank you Java for that pertinent info and to answer your question no I have never watched a football game in my life until the entertaining Stanford Southern Cal game. BTW UConn is no SC or maybe they are since you made the comparison.

@rwc1952 tressel was suspended for the first two games of the season he then resigned, kinda. As to Meyer, I may have mixed up his various health episodes. I had thought he had some and then didn't come back. Steve Alford was fired in December from UCLA. Lane Kiffin and Sark were both fired mid season. Heck, Sark almost got fired before it began.

Your point, and it's sometime hard to get you to focus on that. has a coach ever been fired this early? yes. Was it Mike Price? Forget his name, Left WSU for Alabama and got fired before coaching a game. Illinois coach in 2015 fired on the eve of game 1. Joe Paterno, Minnesota and Colorado mid season 2010. Steve Spurrier walked away under pressure after about 4 games. The number of pro teams is endless, people firing coaches 10-20% into the year. As originally said, don't be such a drama queen.

@Java Drama Queen really? I’m just posting facts like Urban Meyer announced in Dec 2018 I’ll retire after the Rose Bowl. The season was over. Tressel fired in May Well before the season begins. Not quite what you said. I won’t even go in to your next paragraph please stop while you’re ahead.

Have you ever watched college football? Randy Edsell of Uconn just got bounced after one game Happens a lot. Basketball too. Lot of guys come out of spring camp or fall camp and it's clear it isn't working. Milwaukee Brewers fired their manager a couple years ago like two weeks in. Don't be such a drama queen

@tempomacdougall actually, he was roundly fired by the great majority of citizens on November 3, 2020 for many reasons, including his failures in dealing with the Taliban during his one and done term.

Whtever dude--after the covid year some felt he should get a mulligan for last year. Fortunately Helton was able to re-establish himself as utterlty incompetent very quickly removing any doubt whatsoever.
