Has USC ever played a game vs their rival when both are Top 10?

I reasonably disagree. The 2015 game does not trump every #1 v. #2 game SC has ever played (and there have been many). The teams in 4-team playoff are determined by the same kind of voting that existed during the BCS era and earlier bowl era. You just had to play one extra game. Hardly a playoff series.

I hear ya, SC Gator. Still, it's the evolution of what we used to have which is miles better than a bunch of voters determining who is #1 (or #1 and #2) even if said voters determined who is #1-4. Two games of the arguabley Top 4 teams in the nation battling it out is so much more indicative of a true national champ than voters who arbitrarily voted who should be #1 and #2, and face off against each other.

To the rest of you dastardly pirates, yes, Oregon lost. But at least they were tested and lost in a true playoff match up, not a beauty contest of hack college football reporters and writers.
