That a New Year's Day bowl in a new years hot destination is pricey. I remember USC first orange bowl game vs Iowa was a son of a bitch for flights. It was ridiculous with both price and limited availability of flights. USC chartered flights for us. It was really cool , all USC fans on the flight. Only time I have ever been on a plane with 100% USC people.
So there is your solution Huskies. Charter away.
I covered both orange bowl games for wearesc back then and was amazed how many ok and Iowa fans bailed to go party in Miami well before the games were over, despite being the dominant number of fans at the game. Loved both experiences because SC was so well coached at that time.
Is Arvind a poster here? What's his handle? That was the first internet board I ever joined!
Do you think UW has never played in any NYD bowl games?
When I was younger, some of us drove to the 1978 and 1981 Rose Bowls and stayed with friends in the area. For the 2001 Rose Bowl, we flew into San Jose and dove down from there and stopped in SLO to visit friends. Drove back up after the game (the fog in the San Joaquin Vally wasn't bad that year). For the 1991 Rose Bowl, I spent $250 for a seat on the local media charter, which included the shuttle bus from Burbank airport to and from the stadium.
I don't need to be so cash concience now but still angle for values.
Dang really? I flew into Orlando with. Guy on the usc board Arvinds board. And we drove to Miami.
