It has been almost two full weeks since USC football held its spring game on April 23. If you are wondering how this game is being processed and put into perspective by national college football analysts, take note: At least one analyst could not be more impressed by how Lincoln Riley conducted this spring showcase in the Los Angeles Coliseum.
You know that we regularly appear on The Voice of College Football, the YouTube show hosted by Mark Rogers, who has a USC YouTube channel along with channels for other prominent schools in the sport.
When we recently appeared on Mark’s broadcast to review the spring game, we offered our own insights, as we always do, but Mark made news for us here at Trojans Wire by saying how hugely impressed he was by the physicality of the spring game.
Mark put it plainly: He watches a lot of spring games (because it is his job to do so, checking in on various teams for his vast array of YouTube channels), and he has seen a lot of pillow fights in these scrimmages.
USC really got after it.
So, it wasn’t just us here at Trojans Wire. National, outside voices could also see how physical this spring game was. That’s a forceful piece of affirmation for the way Lincoln Riley and Alex Grinch are going about their business at USC.
