The Rose Bowl is in a great setting. Good tailgating, easy parking. Only people breaking into cars are the Event Staff people, so it's a lot safer than the neighborhood around SC. But once you get into the stadium, the sight lines are pretty bad. I'd rather hang out outside the Rose Bowl, but I'd rather watch a game at the Coliseum.
First game in 35 years I left early. Went with a Chinese guy named Evan. First college football game. Had seen the super bowl. Took TONS of pictures. Olympics torch, USC bookstore. Loved the band. Thought they were hilarious. Loved the USC student section. All this hype and build up. And then possibly the worst USC game I've been to. Failure on the O, d and discipline.
Not sure how it looked on TV but it was worse in person.
USC in game hype machine is a little overload given the product.
The stoppages for replay are truly ruining the game and making it unwatchable.
Not sure if it was Slovis or his receivers but sooooo many missed connections. That also was unwatchable.
USC and STanford were nearly even in yards even as the score got worse. The difference? Execution. USC turnovers. USC penalties. USC inability to finish in red zone. Stanford is not a good team.
By beginning of the 4Q he had had a 8-9 hours day or whatever at that point and was asleep. He woke up and said "I don't think USC gonna be win this game today maybe next game. Can we go now?" And for the first time in 38 or whatever years since my freshman year. Not with 4 little kids in tow. Not with bored wife. Not with uninterested dates. Not even when it was freezing did I ever leave early. And last night, despite having 50 yard lines seats in the 10th row. I said yeah, no problem Evan, nothing to see here.
@Java on a serious note - how was the atmosphere? read reports of scattered booing and of course we know many left at the beginning of the fourth.
but from the tv it looked like a bunch of apathetic kids who didn’t seem too bothered by another shit sand which.
curious what you saw since you were there. FYI I’m back in tejas so cant go to the games on a regular basis. Just as well by the looks of it. Booked the Irish game so that ls going to be a long weekend.

@Java Not at all. As I have said many times, I'm simply a fan of the football team. All other things usc mean shit to me...including you. But please, tell us again how you, "know coaching" because you coached little league, lol. Tell us how it was all Hugs and not Darnold that took us to the Rose Bowl and ultimately a victory.
You were wrong. Dead wrong. But in true Sanka fashion you'll never admit it and just deflect with your tranny argument. Be a man for once in your life
Tis the fate of any football fan. I am sure Java has already recovered as have I. But we appreciate your concern
Us Bruin fans are spoiled to have such a great stadium with excellent parking, Coliseum is a real pain to go to.
