Heisman winners don’t put up 21 points at home. So I’m guessing it was viewed as a defensive struggle.
nd new coach immediately went into moral victory mode. Read all his interviews. “There are no moral victories at Notre dame. We expect to win them all”. Then spent the rest of his time telling us how amazing his men were and how proud and how much effort. I really had to go get a box of tissues. Cries my eyes out for how wonderful and amazing and heroic these young f men were.
their accomplishment in losing was akin to the great endeavors of you g men historically. The Normandy invasion of June 6 and of course the amazing Notre dame team that almost beat usc in 2005. Still the great nd moral victory of all time.
anyway I’m guessing the press swallowed some of that hook line and sinker. Road game. Tough defensive battle. Close finish. Ohios state killing the game on the ground for 9 minutes. Maybe 10? Didn’t help matters.
The complexion of the coach and the ND crapola buys him a great deal of favoritism. Suddenly several pundits see SC in a playoff game or Rose Bowl. Its kinda nice to have Oregon fall away.
Awfully soon for that. Many had usc at 8-4 even while opening 6-0. I’m in that group. So the way I have it playing out is 6-0 causes euphoria. Heisman talk. Dynasty. 50 year contract extension. Drinks for life.
finishing 2-4 has talk of falling off the cliff. Most disappointing team in America etc. Long way to 6-0 and several teams on there can truly cause problems along the way. Stanford. Fresno. Oregon state and ua on the road. Asu. None of those are gimmes
11 is way too high....should be behind ucly after they destroyed the Pinsetters
ND at 8 🤣
#8 teams don’t get held to 72 yards total offense in the second half.
