I wonder if some of the best transfers

Are yet to come? The transfer window closes 1/18. Beyond that for any school who changes head coaches. Not sure how long that is in effect. Maybe till the next season starts.

anyway. I’m thinking a lot of kids want to play their bowl game. Enjoy the last benefits of being at state u. Be with their buddies. Enjoy a trip. Put up some numbers and then get out of dodge Even if you have a nyd game you still have 18 days and a lot of these guys sure moves faster than that when the portal opened up on 12/4. Shazam. It’s almost like they already knew where they were going.

the name that keeps coming to mind is Miller moss. I can totally see him being the starting qb for usc in the cotton bowl. Having an agreement with Lincoln Riley that he’s gonna play and start. going 15-25 for 200 yards and some scrambles. Then using that as a resume to go ahop himself afterward.

no idea what that kid would stick around with Williams there and Nelson coming in.

I am wondering if a lot of mother kids from other schools might be doing same. Considering they’re actually playing and contributing they might be the best kids out there.

this recruiting thing is now a never ending cycle. It’s like waiver wire in baseball on steroids

That was the second round I believe. There is a second round for entering the portal after spring ball. That is when Gary Bryant will enter.

im guessing a few enter after bowls. Surprised the usc Lb entered when he did. It he’s probably not on the depth chart nor traveled for the bowl. So he probably got out now

Having an agreement? That any player demands PT and a starting spot?

If that culture is what your head coach installs in his program, he will never win anything close to a championship.

There is an expected second wave of Portal entries to come after the post season.

You have to continually recruit your own team, long court the HS kids, full court press the portal entries, and convey interest in those not yet in the portal. It is a high wire act that I think USC needs to improve on. Losing too many important players.

Thanks for the correction. So a guy can enter 1/18 and sit around a few weeks? Of course the silly thing is that is mid semester. Presumably there is class time missed and degree progress falling behind

There were some "edits" to entering the Transfer Portal since last year. I need to check on what "current reality" is now.....before commenting.
