In my opinion they don't. it would and should be the Cheaters, Free Shoes U with the busted up QB. Oregon with a loss to UW and a W versus UW and UW with the same lol Special nods to Ohio State or Texas. Can't but Ga over Bama because Bama just beat them and can't put Bama over tejas for the same.
God let this happen. A playoff with no SEC team and tweedle dee and tweedle dum beating each other in the PNW. Free Shoes with no QB and Michigan, who can accep
t the trophy, hold it up, and then immediately either drop it or pass it right back to the NCAA That woulkd be a perfect ending.
Most udeserving team to be in the mix....FSU. If their QB is out after being injured and also being from the ACC ...even undefeated they are not a well deserving team. Their QB is a difference maker...not the same team withut him...FSU if they win this weekend is not deserving of being there IMHO a lot of better teams out there if FSU is handicaped.
Georgia has to pay the price for having Tennessee-Martin, Ball State, UAB, and a weak Georgia Tech as OOC games. Their best wins are Missouri and Mississippi. Not playoff worthy if they lose to Bama. What they did last year should be irrelevant.
I'm just commenting on what we all just saw happen to Ohio State.
The criteria is a moving target. Is it resume, is it eye test, is it most deserving or is it the four best teams. Everyone knows FSU without Jordan Travis is clearly not one of the four best teams in the country, even at 13-0.
Their resume isnt at all that good, they haven't looked dominant in many of their games. So because they are 13-0 in a P5 conference, they can't be left out?
Bama, Oregon, Ohio State & Texas are all clearly better football teams right now. So is Missouri.
If FSU can beat Louisville with Rodecker, they are in for sure. Undefeated in a Power 5 conference. The only way they would have been left out is if there were 4 other undefeated teams. In that case, Travis being out would be held against them.
You are correct 100%.....undefeated or not they are without their star QB just an average team at best....that kid carried his team...the folks looking at the best four tems should not consider an undefeated season as the only criteria...but they probably will...bet they are sweating bullets hoping FSU falls flat this weekend....and that BAMA doesn't beat UGA...
Furthermore. If Georgia loses, there could be up to 5 undefeated or one loss conference champions sitting there which we know carries weight with the committee.

because this is how the college football world works.
I fully expect Georgia to lose to Alabama so both SEC teams get into the playoffs.
It's like watching a re-run of Gilligans island.
everything is fixed. caching. sc

First of all the SEC Championship is not on a Neutral Field...anything but. Playing UGA in Atlanta is not neutral by any means,,,,,,
What if Iowa beats UM? Is UM still in, does OSU take that spot instead?
Texas and Oregon really need to #1) win their game and 2) Mich and GA win theirs.
Is chaos afoot?
Two time defending nc and they are in the sec the sec being the best is a self fulfilling prophesy.
If Saban pulls it off, easily his best coaching job of his career l
Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

If they lose, they should be out.
