I've never missed going to an Oregon playoff game or championship game so far. (Not hard to do since we've only been in 3 of them and all in the last 14 years!!๐) And for various reasons I'm not going to make all 3 or 4 games this season, but I wonder how many fans will?
Already have my tix for the Rose Bowl, should Oregon win tomorrow vs Penn State and/or otherwise make it by backing into it. And of course, if Oregon loses tomorrow, I'll be at Autzen for the first playoff game there. After that, not sure.
Almost definitely won't go to the semi-finals on Jan 9-10. And torn about going to Atlanta if Oregon makes it that far. I feel by attending the Championship games in 2011 and 2015, I may have jinxed things. So thinking sitting home might bring us that championship....finally! If it only were that simple... ๐
Obviously this post won't age well if we quacks get doinked in our first playoff game. But the point stands, for this brand new playoff format, how many playoff games do fans generally expect to attend? And which ones? Early ones - or wait til later ones, but what if your team doesn't make it that far? Do you go to all them and say to hell with work, family, responsibilities, etc.?
It is a good question, especially for those who aren't retired. To me it's not at all like the NCAA tournament.... I don't think I'd ever attend a Final Four or national championship game sitting basically in a football-sized stadium watching a basketball game gong on far, far away.
TEE, Sawtooth, babysaw - what's your plan?
If Ducks lose to Pedd st the first game at Autzen its a no brainer for fans to attend. I went to the 2015 RB semi- final game. Didnโt go to the finals.
I see Duck fans selling out Rose Bowl.
The semis and finals will be tough for most fans after spending for the Rose Bowl. I donโt even know where the semis and finals are. Havenโt even looked.
