Why are the fans of the schools in LA so easily impressed?
UCLA now thinks J Smith isn't a worthy candidate because he lost to a #5 team? If the UW job was open, he would be near the top of my list.
And USC is looking for a DC and I suggested the positives for Kwiatkowski and the negatives about Lake. Poo-pooing K and warming up to Lake.
Carry on boys on your current path...
I highly doubt PK will be an option because Texas will match whatever we offer him, he's in a better recruiting hotbed and they're in the midst of a potential playoff run so the earliest he could arrive would be early January and that's even if he's interested (according to Wiki he has always been intrigued by Texas). Same with Leonhard except he's probably more likely to go to a school with a better roster like LSU if he doesn't get a HC job.
I hear you on Lake but do his players get lined up? Can they tackle? Do the DB's develop? Can he recruit? That'll be an upgrade right there and even if he was a Co-DC at UW, he was still a part of some really good defenses. The bar is low sadly but even his defense in 2021 was far better than anything we've had in probably a decade. We'll see who the candidates are but Lake probably isn't coming here anyway because of his aversion to the Air Raid, even though CLR doesn't run a true version of that offense.
