I think you hit the nail on the head with "awkward tackle". Most of these dirty plays, or targeting plays, are not done with intent to injure or play dirty. They are just awkward tackles. The game moves at such a fast pace, with trillions of variables in each minute of play, the human brain cannot keep up. If you manipulate the tape speed enough, or freeze at a particular image, you can make the story fit whatever narrative you want. The technology we use to review plays or view the game has surpassed the level and speed of the game by so much that it is destroying it.
tackling low, while obviously not preferred, is part of the game.
Injuries are going to happen. They are doing to much to "eliminate" injuries and are destroying the game in the process. I for one would like to watch a USC team that tackles better than a pee wee team (that is tackling in practice btw, no bags).
Looked to me as football. Don't see anything dirty about it other than one player attempting to tackle another and in the process of going low getting kicked in the head by a knee. When Jerome Pettis and Earl Campbell played defenders knew the only way to stop them was to tackle tham at the knees anythig higher you were taking your ife in your hands...anyone that tired to tackle Jim Brown from the waist up knew Brown had a wicked forearm that he would slash down like a karate blow and could break your arm. As I said nothing illegal here especially if it it's run at fullspeed and not slowed down.
Not dirty
Good points all.
Just thought the crown of the helmet on the knee was a bit dirty myself.
Really ackward tackle all the way around.

Looks like he was barely touched. Sure don't see anything dirty.
