Jim Leonard and USC still negotiating

according to one report on Youtube. This is the killer...they are hung up on whether or not JL can choose his whole complete defensive staff or not. That to me seems rediculous that it's even something that is a roadblock. Certainly a DC wants to surround himself with his guys...not some carryover from the previous staff unless he hinks one or two of those guys can get the job done with the proper scheme..his call

This makes a lot of sense. JL may have the chops to coach at the NFL level but so far his resume has only been at one school and because of that maybe he didn't get the kind of offers he thought he would earlier this year. Coach here for a couple of seasons, produce a few draft picks and that's enough for him to get some looks from the league. Let's hope those insiders are right and some good news comes our way in the next few days.
