You bring up the USC (alum) and the money thing quite often. Are you seeing this "elitest attitude" here on the WW, or are you getting it from the typical stereotypes you hear about and can't get past?
I see it quite a bit around town and other places online. The WW is pretty tame. Maybe it's just the WLV area in particular, but it is out there. Lots of Thurston Howells out and about.
Normally I try to be selective as to who gets my clicks but this was a good video and thanks for posting. People might say that CLR is just blowing smoke but his latest comments are all things that he has never said in an interview or press conference before. Also, if one reads between the lines of Wylie's comments, it didn't seem like he was fully onboard with what Grinch wanted.
If you look at his time at Oklahoma, yes he was brought in by Bob Stoops but the defenses that were put out onto the field were NOT elite or even good. The 2017 Oklahoma team that OU fans swear was a championship caliber team was ranked 68th in scoring defense at 27.1 PPG and even the year before in Stoops' final season was 69th (28.8 PPG). However Bob was running the program at the time was not conducive to fielding great defense so I'd imagine LR might have thought that if Stoops didn't prioritize defense, why should he?
I think firing Grinch and getting a DC who is inexperienced but really good at what he does is a clear sign that he knows the way things were done before are not going to cut it going forward.
better late than never.
It took CLR 7 seasons to finally figure this out?
again, better late than never.
My guess is if it wasn't for Jen Cohen, he wouldn't have done anything. That's what I heard anyways.
SC doesn't have NIL money but it does have immediate playing time.
SC may not win anything anytime soon, but it will be nice to see a well coached team on both sides of the ball.
Wonder how long it will take for CLR to also figure out that special teams matter more than having 2 receiver coaches. sc

I like JP a lot. Usually has a good take on SC.
Great point on recruiting lineman
