Josh Pate says the coming Portal is going to be huge

I didn't say it Pate did...but your numbers may be off. Assume 1/4 of those 85 roster spots are seniors and another few other players drop out, take medical release or enter the draft early...that would leave about 60 or less roster players per team and 30% would be around 18 players per school...times your 125 schools ( I thought it was less then that) which would indicate about 2200 players...

Yep, applies to several teams. Ucla is a great example. They killed it in the TP. Charbus is their best player, but behind him you have the 4-5 portal guys who are major contributor... Bama would have 1 more loss without those 2 solid offensive players they picked up from the portal,,,, Ole Miss and so on.

It‘s been great for us. I think once he gets established, year 2…that he’ll only use it to shore up a spot or two. I don’t anticipate him bringing in 18-20 guys every year

The 2600 last year must have been all divisions. No way it was 20 per school. USC and ucla had a ton and I don’t even think they were at 20

if we are now looking at that number just in d1? Power 5? Then I think the dam has broken and your theory goes out the window. Clemson is banking on the ncaa getting a handle on this and me too. The nil. The $. The unlimited free agency. And tell me these guys are making degree progress. Bs. I think every school is handing out free diplomas if these guys are graduating in 3 years with that schedule.

If those numbers are correct, or even close (30-40% of most rosters), there will most certainly be some regulations coming. 30-40 percent would be a total shit show. I can’t believe the numbers will be that high. Oh well, get it while you can. Like I said, this will probably be the last year of this bs... defensive front 7 players please… good ones

Oh no doubt, the sport will have to make changes to curb that.
