I can remember the first time they asked me at Geno's if I wanted whiz or no whiz.
I was like WTF!
give me extra provolone on the bottom and don't forget to toast my roll!
what a sacrilege! Only at Pat's would I expect something like that
No wonder Tony Luke’s and John’s Roast Pork are among my first stops in Philly for cheese steaks but only after I've feasted at Ristorante Pesto, Parc Brasserie, Little Nonna's, and Marinucci's Deli, of course. Although, Cosmi's and Primo's ain't bad, get your hoagies from Marinucci's, trust me.
If you can read a menu, I'm sure you'll know what to order at the other places I named.
I've known a lot of native Philadelphians who swear by Cheese Whiz on their Philly cheesesteaks. And I know an equal number who think it is sacrilege. Honestly, I don't have a dog in that fight. But it is interesting.
Isn't that place on Fig supposedly decent, at least for out here?
it all starts with; "no whiz!"
