Chip is not interested in recruiting. It wouldn't be hard to rent the Hornblower and have recruiting weekends and themed parties at this house, it' not like lincoln does the planning, that is what assistants are for. And you can do it online with qa click of a button and a credit card. Chip is just flat out not going to do it, he wouldn't even rent a Duffy for the afternoon. He does not want to win, he just wants to do things his own way, period. That is his lust. He was promised control over the program and he is doing just that, no matter how bad it gets. He will ride this ship to the bottom of the ocean. Even if he wanted to recruit and change things, UCLA would not allow it. They are interested in being a school, football is just a reminder of the constant torment and bullying those nerds faced when they were younger at the hands of jocks. The UCLA braintrust is bound and determined to never let sports be the focal point. Comparing UCLA and USC recruiting is pointless, If UCLA was going head to head and losing that is one thing, but they aren't even attempting to look like they are trying. They are opting out.
