It's my understanding that roster sizes can now reach 105, up from 85. USC is facing schools raising their NIL money to astronomic levels. My suggestion is that SC should limit their roster level to around 85 and thereby spread their NIL money over a smaller roster level to make us better able to compete for talent. Thoughts?

The back-benchers won't stick around anyway, so why waste the money?
Waldorf is right, quality over quanitity. To go further, if I'm a HC, I want players with the right attitute, that are team players. I would pick a 3* player over 4* and 5* if their attitude is about playing and working hard, likeable personality and solid character (no ganstas types) and being a team player... Cheers.
SC's NIL is actual NAME IMAGE AND LIKENESS. JewJew does commercials. Caleb peddled beverages. etc. That is what the courts should find that it is. good luck with that.
My thoughts are to not give jack shit who's name image or likeness isn't worth jack shit. The NFL should fund their own minor leagues like baseball. Who beat the french whores again? who cares. sc
You're a real mathematical strategist there. Did you do all of that cyphering and figuring in your head or did you need a pivot table? Maybe some python code? Anyhow, that might be far too complicated for Riley to understand. Maybe the GM will understand it.
I was thinking the same thing. Those extra 20 guys don't add much unless they're all good players. It's about quality, not quantity.
And you can only start 22 players. And even if you need three deep, that's still only 66 players. Had another 20 for special teams, what's it add up to?
Interesting point, an nfl roster is what 56 players? USC is playing catch-up with the whole NIL thing. We tried, as usual, to go the cheap route and Oregon ate our lunch. I think we need to start acting like the big boys we are and jump into the deep end of the pool. We chose to spend donor money on renovations instead of directing donors to HoV.
If Oregon is really spending $40mill on 105 players that’s like $380k per player. Wow. It seems clear to me that we are going to have to spend. We have a very expensive coaching staff, our DC is likely the highest paid in CFB. We need to give our staff the best players.
