Well I prefer gasoline cars. If we weren't supposed to eat meat, it wouldn't taste and smell so good and we wouldn't have pointy teeth. Global warming is a HOAX. Just like the coming ice age in the 70-s- 80's , or that we were running out of trees in the 90's. Yes they made up the data to fit their globalist narative. Agree about the hoax and this thread shows who is the ignorant lefty and who is sensible.

Funny thing about those who are believing in this hoax are those who live in their little urban bubbles and never been too far away from their city environment. Have any of those ever driven through Montana/Utah/AZ let alone any (mostly western) states, awayh from their cities? Doubt it. They don't even comprehend the vastness of the oceans, deserts and jungles, let alone every piece of land on this planet above the 55th parallel.

I will never buy an EV. Just not practical where I live and what I do. Run out of charge? It is not like you can put in a 'gallon' of electricity to get you to the next re-charge station, whereever that would be. And what about all of those batteries that wear out? Just millions of tons of hazardous waste that is difficult and expensive to dispose of.

Solar and wind are NEVER going to even come close to the need, plus, there are those pesky little things like no wind and 12 housr a day of no sun, while clouds are a nuisance too.

Nuclear fusion is the answer and I don't think it is decades away now. Don't care for nuclear fission either but natural gas (and possibly hydrogen) can bridge that gap.

Sounds like Cali might have the charging infrastructure - at least along I-5 and I-15. I have heard conflicting stories regarding cross-country driving. If only 20 minutes for a full charge and no waiting, I might take another look. Any long road trips would be to Denver or Missoula, MT.

Really the only downside to compressed natural gas is perfecting the storage tank system. CNG will not give the range as gasoline, but more range than EV. And CNG is much cleaner, but will it make Greta a happy girl? Seems like out govt is not pursuing CNG for whatever reason. I wonder why?

I like toyota, I had a early model Tacoma that I bought in High School, first ever big purchase, felt good to go in and pay cash after working my ass off. I think it was 12,500 out the door, and I sold it 6 years later with about 150K miles for the same because they shot up so much in price. I like the new Lexus too, which i think is same base as 4Runner, not sure i want to sign up for 1st article though. I have always loved full size American SUVs, but they just don't hold up to the type of driving we do here in LA, not enough open road smooth sailing to keep those engines going more than 5 years, and I like to get 8-10 out of them if I can.
