They were ranked #7 in the preseason poll. They finished last year #14 and added one of the top QBs in the portal, returned most of their best players, plus had a great recruiting class, which included several big-time recruits who have made big contributions.
Not to mention, Jeremiyah Love has built on 2023 and has become the best back in ND history - yes I said it again. It can no longer be denied. The offensive line, while inexperienced to start the year, is loaded with big-time recruits.
Have they had injuries? Yes, but the truth is, without the injuries, the Buckeyes would only be a slight favorite.
Make no mistake, this is no Cinderella run. Kelly built a very good roster and Freeman added to it.
Crazy to think that I’ve been more right about ND than the Domers here.
Their 5 STAR FR. LT Charles Jagusah 6' 7'' 325 who tore his pec in aug. will start. DT Cross still has a bum ankle. RG R. Spindler ankle is sprained. Fr LB KVA from St. bosco has no brace on his knee. It will be a uphill battle.
LOL they had to hit bottom with Northern IL, then they improved week to week. Credit Marcus Freeman and the coaching staff. It's early but Marcus may be better than Holtz or Parseghian. Perhaps a couple of weak position groups but they should be improved next year. I thought next year was going to be the NATY year. Hope they prove me wrong this year. You did have faith in ND's NATY potential before I did, but Marcus tells the team think one game at a time and 1 play at a time, "one play, one life". Guess I got caught up in that too. Didn't want to think about a NATY until after Penn State.
